The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library (TRPL), currently in development in Medora, North Dakota, is an ambitious project dedicated to preserving and sharing the life and legacy of Theodore Roosevelt. More than just a traditional presidential library, TRPL will offer an interactive, story-driven experience designed to inspire civic participation and reflection on the values Roosevelt championed—leadership, citizenship, and conservation.

Guided by these three core principles, TRPL will immerse visitors in Roosevelt’s world, using the dramatic Badlands landscape as a backdrop for exploration and self-discovery. Unlike conventional libraries that focus on archives, TRPL will emphasize experiential learning, allowing visitors to connect personally with Roosevelt’s journey and be inspired to take action in their own lives.

Beyond its physical location, TRPL will have a national reach. It aims to foster meaningful dialogue in an era of division, providing a platform for civil discourse on pressing issues related to leadership and public service. Through events, symposia, a traveling speaker series, podcasts, and educational initiatives—including a K-12 curriculum and scholars program—TRPL’s influence will extend far beyond Medora, engaging audiences across the country and worldwide.

As a grantee of The Tom and Frances Leach Foundation, Inc., TRPL benefits from support that aligns with the foundation’s mission to advance public welfare, education, and civic engagement. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to preserving history while inspiring future generations to embrace Roosevelt’s enduring ideals. Learn more: https://www.trlibrary.com/
